Another pair of Little Owls has been found. Paul Turner and Des McKenzie were searching the north part of Kensington Gardens for the Tawny Owls, still without success, but Paul found the Little Owls on an exotic tree of unknown species between the Orangery and the Round Pond. This is the male of the pair, rather fluffed up against a chilly day. He was very calm and took no notice when being photographed.

The familiar male Little Owl could also be seen in his usual place.

Another find today was a Redstart in the same enclosure as the Cetti's Warblers. I didn't see this myself and don't have a picture.

But there was a male Blackcap singing in the same place.

Several Willow Warblers were singing around the Long Water. Here is one on the east side, a short distance from the Italian Garden.

It was accompanied by a much more ordinary Great Tit, which posed artisticallly beside a blossom.

A female Blackbird was gathering nesting material in front of Kensington Palace.

The second-year Great Black-Backed Gull paid another visit to the Long Water and sat in its usual place on one of the posts near Peter Pan.

The Scaup was swimming around the reed rafts at the east end of the Serpentine.

A large bird of prey passed high overhead. This distant picture just manages to show the black and white face of one of the Peregrines from the Metropole Hilton hotel.
