We have had Red-Veined Darters in the park before, and I have pictures of both species from previous years.Ralph Hancockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11686354797977020917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278510471239667560.post-48833170365464018712021-06-16T18:32:28.780+01:002021-06-16T18:32:28.780+01:00Check those darters carefully Ralph as there have ...Check those darters carefully Ralph as there have been quite a few Red-veined Darters this week & Kensington Gardens is often a top site for them. Though I've seen one early newly-emerged Common Darter, it's still a bit on the early side, especially to be coloured up. You may well be right but will be good if you can get some images.
Conehead54https://www.blogger.com/profile/18423862602236191493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278510471239667560.post-74960681713282727332021-06-16T10:32:09.838+01:002021-06-16T10:32:09.838+01:00There are also Common Darters but I haven't ha...There are also Common Darters but I haven't had a chance of a picture yet.

Thanks for the correction. Yesterday I watched a Moorhen chick fail to catch one that had landed on the same raft!

For the sake of botanical accuracy the Reed Warbler isn't in Cow Parsley which should have largely finished flowering by now. It's possibly our potentially most lethal plant- Hemlock Water-dropwort, which of course loves the damp environs that is likely to support Reed Warblers.Conehead54https://www.blogger.com/profile/18423862602236191493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278510471239667560.post-16600417943525928322021-06-16T02:36:30.796+01:002021-06-16T02:36:30.796+01:00I mean I mistook the correct picture for a patchy-...I mean I mistook the correct picture for a patchy-looking swan whose eye is hidden from view. There web page is full of fluffy boasts about how they care for you, but reality is starkly different. It was an account I was paying for, too, unlike YouTube which is free.Ralph Hancockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11686354797977020917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278510471239667560.post-50858322925185256272021-06-16T00:30:45.988+01:002021-06-16T00:30:45.988+01:00Odd. Blogger does suffer from glitches, and you should see the horrific routine I have to go through to insert YouTube videos, by hand in HTML because its standard insertion procedure makes the videos come out blank on mobile devices.Ralph Hancockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11686354797977020917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278510471239667560.post-3973660731764958222021-06-16T00:01:08.797+01:002021-06-16T00:01:08.797+01:00On first viewing the grebe on nest pic, I saw a ju...On first viewing the grebe on nest pic, I saw a juvenile swan. :-) JimAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278510471239667560.post-9343364423077940012021-06-15T23:34:00.489+01:002021-06-15T23:34:00.489+01:00I am still bewildered by vimeo's stupidly over...I am still bewildered by vimeo's stupidly oversensitive filter.
